About Me
I have worked in education for over a decade. My experience in education includes teaching elementary, special education, university professor, administrator, and researcher.
As a researcher, I value the opportunity to dive deep into expanding understanding of dyslexia and dysgraphia as well as the social-emotional connection between learning challenges and literacy. As an educator and practitioner, I am dedicated to designing and delivering dynamic learning experiences that promote student engagement, increase academic achievement, and build learner confidence.
I am passionate about learning and valuing the lived experiences of others as a conduit for moving learning forward, particularly for those with learning difficulties/challenges such as dyslexia and dysgraphia. I have spent years focused on reimagining the educational landscape for struggling learners, so they experience success.

Philosophy:
My philosophy is grounded in the belief that each learner is a unique individual in their personality, interests, strengths, challenges, and learning. Some learners struggle more than others. That is a fact. When faced with learning disabilities, a learners’ journey may not be easy. However, truly seeing a learner, designing instruction that focuses on their strengths and addresses areas of difficulty while empowering them with strategies and tools for navigating learning, I believe, will set them on a path to personal growth and foster a passion for life-long learning.
